Eradicate Bedbugs – They are back with a Vengance
Why should we want to eradicate bedbugs? It’s hard to think of anything more unpleasant and annoying than tiny little insects that suck your blood while you’re asleep at night, but that’s exactly what bedbugs are.
Bedbugs are a major nuisance, but if you have them, there’s no reason to panic. You may have to deal with the unpleasant byproduct of having these insects in your house which include bites that are itchy and painful.
If you have been bitten multiple times, do not scratch the red sores as they will only worsen over time. To treat a bedbug bite the first thing you should do is wash the area where you have been bitten with soap and water. Next, you should apply an anti-itch product that you can get at your local pharmacy or a natural food store. As annoying and disturbing as these bites can be, you can be reassured that they aren’t dangerous and, contrary to some rumors, bedbugs don’t spread deadly diseases.
These pests are very hardy and determined and they can enter even the cleanest households. Your housekeeping skills are not necessarily lacking if you have bedbugs in your home. Below are some effective tactics to eradicate bedbugs, whether you’re presently suffering from an infestation or you just want to prevent one from occurring.
If you’ve ever tried to eradicate bedbugs you know they can be tough little buggers to get rid of, and you need to be prepared to do whatever it takes to get rid of them. Consider purchasing a hand held steam cleaner. The high temperatures of the steam will kill the bedbugs. This is a great method because it’s chemical free.
All clothing and bedding should be washed in hot water with a temperature of at least 120 degrees F. If it’s hot outside, you can also hang items in plastic outside in the sun for a few days.
Unfortunately, just washing bedding and clothing isn’t enough to eradicate bedbugs when they are in your home. A good way to prevent bedbugs from ever appearing is to be cautious when purchasing secondhand items for your home. If you must buy a piece of used furniture, always thoroughly inspect it prior to placing it at your residence. Remember that, although bedbugs are small, they are large enough that they can be seen with the naked eye.
Bedbug infestations can occur very rapidly because of their ability to lay eggs on virtually any object. To prevent infestations, it helps not to purchase used couches or mattresses. Spreading rapidly the last few years, bedbugs are found throughout the world. Although these bugs can cause unsightly and itchy sores, and are very annoying, you can ultimately get rid of them. To eliminate them once and for all, use the tips we have presented in this article and also seek out other solutions.
